Principal Database Administrator
Position Purpose This position will be responsible for transformation of enterprise SQL data platform, implementing solutions. Job Description Work with the development team to analyse the need of storage and backup space in production servers based on usage. Support software installation and maintenance – Initial installation and configuration of new SQL. Servers based on industry best practice, apply patches and upgrade to SQL Servers as required. Manage data transfers to new platforms and setup replications where needed. Create backup and recovery plans and procedures based on industry best practices. Analyse and recommend database services most suited to project requirements. Proactively tune and optimise the database to operate at maximum efficiency. This could be configurations changes, indexing the DB or help the developers tune their queries to improve performance.
